Nowadays, the Aadhaar card is used for every important task, whether it's for banking, availing government schemes, or using it as identification. Therefore, people have started preferring PVC cards over paper Aadhaar cards because they are small, strong, and durable, just like an ATM card. So, let's find out what the new charge for the Aadhaar PVC card is and what this card actually is.
What is the new charge for the Aadhaar PVC card?
The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has increased the fee for the Aadhaar PVC card. Earlier, it cost Rs 50 to get an Aadhaar PVC card. But from January 1, 2026, the charge has been increased to Rs 75. This Rs 75 fee includes taxes, meaning you will not have to pay any extra money. This new charge will apply when you order the PVC card online through the myAadhaar portal or the mAadhaar app.
Why has the Aadhaar PVC card fee been increased?
According to UIDAI, the cost associated with making PVC cards has increased significantly in the last few years. The cost of the material used in making the card, its printing, security features, and secure delivery through India Post – all these costs have increased compared to before. This is why UIDAI has slightly increased the fee so that people can receive a good quality, strong, and secure Aadhaar PVC card on time.
