PM Fasal Bima Yojana 2026: Farming is entirely dependent on the weather. Often, months of hard work by farmers are ruined in just a few hours due to fire, floods, drought, hailstorms, strong winds, pest attacks, or crop diseases. In such situations, the biggest concern is financial loss. To mitigate this risk, the Central Government runs the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY).

Under this scheme, farmers can insure their crops by paying a very low premium and receive compensation according to established rules in the event of loss due to natural disasters. The government has also launched a nationwide 'Crop Insurance Month' campaign from July 1 to July 31 to ensure that the maximum number of farmers can join the scheme on time.
