Both central and state governments are running various schemes to ensure a bright future for daughters. Uttar Pradesh, too, has a scheme that provides ₹25,000 at no cost. This scheme is known as the 'Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana'. Under this scheme, the government provides financial assistance totaling ₹25,000, covering the period from the daughter's birth until the completion of her graduation. Previously, the amount provided was ₹15,000, but it has now been increased to ₹25,000.

Under the Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana, the ₹25,000 is disbursed in six installments across six stages, spanning from the daughter's birth to her graduation.

First installment: Upon the daughter's birth – ₹5,000 | Second installment: Upon vaccination – ₹2,000 | Third installment: Upon admission to Class 1 – ₹3,000 | Fourth installment: Upon admission to Class 6 – ₹3,000 | Fifth installment: Upon admission to Class 9 – ₹5,000 | Sixth installment: Upon admission to a graduation course – ₹7,000.

**Who is eligible for the scheme?**
To avail the benefits of this scheme, the beneficiary family must meet certain conditions; for instance, the family must be a permanent resident of Uttar Pradesh. Essential documents include a ration card, Aadhaar card, and a residence certificate. Additionally, the family's annual income must not exceed ₹3 lakh, and an income certificate is required. The scheme covers up to two daughters per family; however, if a family has twin daughters followed by another daughter, all three daughters are eligible for the benefits.
