Google on Tuesday announced the public availability of its Gemini 2.5 series of artificial intelligence (AI) models. Now, users of the Gemini chatbot can use the stable versions of the Gemini 2.5 Pro and Gemini 2.5 Flash models. Interestingly, the tech company has also made the Pro model available to free users. Apart from this, Google has also launched its fastest and most affordable AI model ever, Gemini 2.5 Flash-Lite.

Gemini 2.5 Pro now available to all
Google informed us through a blog post that the Gemini 2.5 Pro and Flash models are now available to everyone in stable form, coming out of the preview stage. Limited capabilities and glitches were often seen in the preview version, which has now been fixed in the stable version.

Google AI Pro and Ultra users will continue to get the same detailed features as before, but now free tier users can also use the Gemini 2.5 Pro model. Daily usage limits will remain limited for free users, while Pro users get 100 daily prompts and Ultra users get even more.

New interface changes
The Gemini website and app will no longer show preview versions in the model selection menu. Free users will now see three options, including Gemini 2.5 Flash, Gemini 2.5 Pro, and Personalisation Preview models. These are capable of answering questions based on the user's Google Search history.

The Gemini 2.5 Flash-Lite model was also launched.
Google has also introduced a new model called Gemini 2.5 Flash-Lite, which is said to be faster and cheaper than 2.0 Flash-Lite. It is specifically designed for real-time tasks such as translation, classification, mathematics, coding, science, and multimodal tasks. This model also has other features of the Gemini 2.5 family such as reasoning power on different token budgets, connectivity to Google Search and code tools, and multimodal input support.
