Voting for two phases of Lok Sabha elections has been completed in the country. About a week is left for the third phase of voting. Before that, on May 1, important news came out regarding domestic and commercial gas cylinders, which will provide some relief to the general public. It is noteworthy that on March 9, the government reduced the price of domestic gas cylinders by Rs 200. Meanwhile, the prices of commercial gas cylinders were reduced in April. Have we seen something similar during the elections also? Let us know about it in depth.

Continuous decline in commercial gas cylinder prices for two consecutive months

There has been significant relief in the prices of commercial gas cylinders. For the second consecutive month, there has been a decline in the prices of commercial gas cylinders in all four metros. The price of commercial gas cylinders has been reduced by Rs 19 in Delhi, Mumbai, and Chennai. As a result, the prices of gas cylinders in these three metros have become Rs 1745.50, Rs 1698.50, and Rs 1911 per cylinder respectively. At the same time, the price of commercial gas cylinders in Kolkata has been reduced by Rs 20 per cylinder. The result was that the price of commercial gas cylinders there has reached Rs 1859.

If we look at the last two months, the prices of commercial gas cylinders have fallen by about Rs 50 in all four metros. The prices of commercial gas cylinders in Delhi have decreased by Rs 49.5. Similarly, in Kolkata also the prices have been reduced by Rs 52 per ten grams. A decline of Rs 50.5 has been seen in the prices of commercial gas cylinders in the last two months in Mumbai. At the same time, in Chennai, the prices have fallen by Rs 49.5 during the same period.

No change in domestic gas cylinder prices

At the same time, there has been no change in the prices of domestic gas cylinders for the last two months. The price of domestic gas cylinders was last reduced by Rs 200 on March 9. This time, despite the stability in the prices of gas cylinders, it will be considered a relief. The main reason for this is that Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) has not increased its prices despite pressure. According to the latest data, the price of a domestic gas cylinder in the national capital Delhi is Rs 803. Whereas, the price in Kolkata is Rs 829, in Mumbai, it is Rs 802.50 and in Chennai, it is Rs 818.50.
