Effective April 1, 2026, the prices of 5-kg FTL (Free Trade LPG) cylinders have increased. The rates for these cylinders have gone up by ₹51. While no hike was observed in the prices of domestic gas cylinders on Wednesday, the rates for commercial cylinders—alongside FTL cylinders—have risen.

On one hand, FTL prices increased by ₹51 today; on the other, the 19-kg commercial LPG gas cylinder has also become more expensive starting today. According to sources, the price of the 19-kg cylinder has been hiked by ₹195.50 in Delhi and by ₹218 in Kolkata, effective today—April 1. Looking at the current year alone, this marks the fifth price hike witnessed in the country. Statistics indicate that the price of commercial gas cylinders has risen by approximately ₹498 during the current year. In Delhi, the price has now reached ₹2,078.50.

No Change in Domestic Cylinder Prices
There has been no change in domestic LPG prices. In the capital, the price of a 14.2-kg cooking gas cylinder remains unchanged at ₹913. The previous hike of ₹60 was implemented on March 7. This change will have a direct impact on hotels, restaurants, and other businesses that rely on commercial gas. Global gas and fuel prices have surged due to the ongoing crisis in the Middle East. Crude oil prices have climbed to $116 per barrel as Iran disrupts the Strait of Hormuz—a major trade route through which 20% of the world's total oil and gas supply passes.

Global oil prices have witnessed a sharp surge in recent weeks. These have witnessed an increase of approximately 50%, primarily due to the ongoing conflict in West Asia, which has impacted supply chains.
