From ticket booking to passenger chart, the Railways has changed these rules from today.

Railway Rules Changed: Railways have made some major changes regarding traveling by train from July 1, 2025. Which will affect crores of passengers. Know which rules have been changed?

Indian Railways is the fourth largest railway system in the world. Every day more than 2.5 crore passengers travel by train across the country. This number of passengers has been increasing continuously in the last few years.

Train travel is considered to be very convenient and economical. This is the reason why even today millions of people prefer to travel by train. But now the way of traveling by train will change to some extent from July 1, 2025. Because Railways has made important changes in many rules related to travel.

Railways has made some major changes regarding traveling by train from July 1, 2025. Which will affect crores of passengers. The biggest change is related to Tatkal ticket booking. Now no passenger will be able to book Tatkal ticket without Aadhaar verification.

This rule will be applicable only on online booking. That is, passengers who book tickets through IRCTC website or Rail Connect app. They will have to do Aadhaar authentication first. The ticket booking process will be completed only after Aadhaar verification.

Apart from this, the rules for preparing passenger charts have also been changed. Earlier the chart used to be prepared 4 hours before the train departure. But now this time has been increased to 8 hours. That is, the chart will be ready much earlier than before.

Railways has also increased the waiting list limit of AC coach. Earlier, where waiting tickets were given up to 25% of the total seats in AC coach. Now this limit has been increased to 60%. For example, if there are 50 seats in an AC coach, then earlier 12 waiting tickets were available. Now 30 waiting tickets can be issued.

Along with this, Railways has also increased the fares of mail and express trains. The fare has been increased by 1 paisa per kilometer in non-AC coaches and 2 paisa per kilometer in AC coaches. However, this new fare will be applicable only on journeys that are for a distance of more than 500 kilometers.
