In recent times, the approach of political parties towards elections has changed. Parties have found a new formula to win elections in the form of 'half the population'. Perhaps that is why before the elections of any state, different political parties announce special schemes for women. Elections were held in 13 states between November 2023 and November 2024. In 9 of these, schemes like Madhya Pradesh's 'Laadli Behna' were implemented or promised to be implemented. These schemes also contributed to the party which won the election. Mahila Samridhi Yojana (Delhi BJP Government)
The BJP government announced this scheme in December 2024 for the poor and deprived women of Delhi. During the Delhi Assembly elections, BJP had mentioned this scheme in its Sankalp Patra. On the occasion of International Women's Day on 8 March 2025, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta launched the Mahila Samridhi Yojana. Under this scheme, eligible women will be given an amount of Rs 2500 every month. The work of registration for this has not started yet.
Subhadra Yojana (Odisha BJP Government)
After forming the government in Odisha, the Bharatiya Janata Party is running a special scheme for women. This scheme is named after Goddess Subhadra, the younger sister of Lord Jagannath. On 17 September 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched 'Subhadra Yojana' on the occasion of his birthday. This is a welfare scheme of the Odisha government to promote economic and social empowerment among women. Through this, women can start their businesses and make themselves self-reliant. Through this scheme, Rs 10,000 is sent to the account of eligible women in two installments. If you calculate it for the month, it is Rs 833. This scheme has been started for 5 years. In this way, the eligible women of this scheme will get a total financial assistance of Rs 50 thousand.
Mainiya Samman Yojana (Jharkhand JMM Government)
This is the most popular scheme of the Jharkhand government. The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha government led by Chief Minister Hemant Sarkar launched the Mainiya Samman Yojana in June 2024. Initially, the age of women for this scheme was 21 years to 50 years, but it was changed to 18 years to 50 years. Under this scheme, earlier eligible women used to get Rs 1000. From December 2025, this amount has been increased to 2500. Natives of Jharkhand, SC / ST, backward class, and women living below the poverty line can apply for this scheme.
Majhi Ladki Behan Yojana (Maharashtra Mahayuti Government)
The Mahayuti government in Maharashtra (BJP, Ajit Pawar faction, and Eknath Shinde faction) launched this scheme on 28 June 2024. Under this, women between 21 and 65 years of age are given Rs 1500 every month. The government has set a budget of Rs 46,000 crore for this. About 7.6% of the state budget is being spent on this scheme. 2.34 crore women are benefiting from this scheme.
Ladli Bahana Scheme (Madhya Pradesh BJP Government)
The scheme of giving cash to women every month started from Madhya Pradesh itself. On March 15, 2023, 8 months before the assembly elections, Shivraj Singh Chouhan's government launched the Chief Minister Ladli Bahana Yojana. Under this scheme, eligible women get Rs 1250 every month. Its first installment was released on June 10, 2023. Before the elections, a total of 6 installments had reached the accounts of the Ladli sisters of the state. More than 1.2 crore women are benefiting from it.
