New Rules 1 September 2025: Many big changes happen across the country on the first day of every month. From 1 September 2025, many rules related to your daily expenses and money are going to change. The biggest change is about the GST system. Apart from this, some big changes are also going to happen on the first day of September. Whether you are thinking of buying silver, using an SBI credit card, or buying an LPG cylinder, these changes will directly affect your pocket.
Come, let us tell you what these new rules are to be implemented next month, i.e., September, and what their effect will be on the common man.
Possibility of big changes in GST
There will be big changes in terms of GST (Goods and Services Tax) reform in the month of September. The 56th meeting of the GST Council will be held on 3 and 4 September 2025 in New Delhi. According to media reports, there may be a change in the tax slab. Instead of the current four tax slabs, now there can be only two slabs: 5 percent and 12 percent. This will directly benefit the common man, and the tax will become easier. This can also make many everyday things cheaper.
Change in silver rules
Hallmarking can be implemented on silver from September 1. This means that customers will be able to easily identify the purity and quality of silver. This will now bring more transparency to investment in silver and the purchase of jewelry. These changes will make the silver market reliable and may also affect the prices.
Change in LPG cylinder price.
The price of an LPG cylinder changes on the first of every month. On September 1, the prices of domestic and commercial cylinders will be decided by the oil companies. If the price increases, then the kitchen budget will take a little more. If the prices decrease, the general public will get relief.
SBI card rules will change
If you have the State Bank of India's Lifestyle Home Center SBI card or its Select version, then there is important news for you. From September 1, you will no longer get reward points on payments made on digital gaming and government portals. Apart from this, charges may increase for bill payment, fuel purchase, or online shopping. A 2 percent penalty and additional fees may also be applicable on international transactions if auto-debit fails.
KYC required for PM Jan Dhan account holders
RBI said that the account holders of Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana will have to get KYC done again by September 30. Camps are being organized at the panchayat level in public banks. Personal and address details will be updated in this process. This will always keep the record of accounts correct.
Last date for filing the income tax return
The last date for filing the income tax return for the assessment year 2025-26 is 15 September 2025. Those who have not filed ITR yet should file it as soon as possible. Some trade organizations are demanding an extension of time, but finance experts say that one should not delay in filing the ITR. This may increase your problems, and you may get into trouble.
15-day bank holiday in September 2025
Many festivals are coming in September, so there are a lot of holidays in the bank. Banks will remain closed for a total of 15 days, which includes weekends i.e. Sunday and Saturday holidays. If you have any bank-related work, then finish it first.
In this way, from September 1, many changes will be seen in your expenses and daily life. Take decisions only after understanding every change from silver to credit card, LPG and tax.
