In fact, the UP government will provide free LPG cylinders to women beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. e-KYC is also required
The government has also clarified that women who have not completed their Aadhaar verification and e-KYC will not be eligible for the free cylinder. A deadline of December 31st has been set, meaning that if a woman has not completed e-KYC or linked her Aadhaar card to her bank account, she will not be eligible for the scheme.
What documents are required?
To qualify for the free cylinder, women must have their Aadhaar card verification and e-KYC completed. Additionally, their name must be on the BPL ration card or poverty line certificate. Women linked to the Ujjwala Yojana must have an active bank account. They must also have proof of residence, such as a ration card, voter ID, or electricity bill. To benefit from the scheme, women must also have a passport-size photo. Furthermore, the Yogi government will distribute free LPG cylinders in two phases: the first phase will be completed from October to December 2025 and the second phase from January to March 2026.
