As soon as summer starts, the use of electrical appliances increases, due to which the electricity bill increases, in such a situation, many state governments of the country provide free electricity to reduce the burden on their citizens. There are some conditions along with this free electricity, let us know in which state on which conditions free electricity is being given-
Delhi:
The Arvind Kejriwal-led government in Delhi has long been at the forefront of providing relief to its citizens through free electricity schemes. Under this initiative, each family is entitled to 200 units of free electricity. Consumption above this limit is charged at half the regular rate.
Jharkhand:
In Jharkhand, after Hemant Soren, the new Chief Minister Champai Soren has announced the expansion of the free electricity program. Earlier, households used to get 100 units of free electricity, which has now increased to 125 units.
Rajasthan:
After the formation of the new government in Rajasthan under the leadership of BJP's Bhajan Lal Sharma, the state has adopted a policy of free electricity provision. Finance Minister Dia Kumari's recent budget presentation outlined the allocation of 300 units of free electricity per month to 5 lakh families across the state.
Punjab and Himachal Pradesh:
In Punjab, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's administration provides 300 units of free electricity, while in Himachal Pradesh, Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu's government provides 125 units of free electricity.
