UIDAI says that details like identity and address recorded in Aadhaar should be updated from time to time. By doing this:
There will be no problem in taking advantage of government schemes.
Bank, mobile SIM, and other KYC-related processes will become easier.
Obstacles caused due to wrong addresses or identities can be avoided.
This free update decision will provide relief to crores of people living in remote villages, elderly, and economically weaker sections, who were earlier unable to get this work done due to the update fees.
It is necessary to update 10-year-old Aadhaar.
The government had already said that people whose Aadhaar card is more than 10 years old should get their card updated. Keeping this in mind, the facility of free update was started, which has now been extended by one more year.
UIDAI is constantly appealing to the people to keep updating their Aadhaar related documents from time to time so that there is no problem in government and private services.
