Free Aadhaar Card Update till June 14: Update Name, Address Online Without Paying ₹50 – Know the Process

Do you need to update your Aadhaar card? If your Aadhaar was issued over 10 years ago, you now have a limited-time opportunity to update your details online for free. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has allowed citizens to update their Aadhaar documents without any fee—but only till June 14, 2025.

After this deadline, a fee will be charged for all updates.

🔍 Where is Aadhaar Update Free?

• Online (via UIDAI website): Free till 14 June 2025

• At Aadhaar Enrollment Centres: ₹50 per demographic update (e.g. name, address)

UIDAI has recommended that every Aadhaar holder should update identity and address proof once every 10 years to ensure data accuracy.

✅ What You Can Update for Free

You can update these details online at no cost:

• Name (minor spelling corrections)

• Date of Birth

• Address

• Mobile Number

• Email ID

However, if you need to change biometric information (like fingerprints, iris scan, or photograph), you must visit an Aadhaar Enrollment Centre, and a fee will apply:

• Biometric update: ₹100

• Demographic update: ₹50

📄 Documents Required

To update Aadhaar details, you’ll need to upload:

• Proof of Identity (POI) (e.g., PAN card, Passport)

• Proof of Address (POA) (e.g., utility bill, bank statement)

• Date of Birth proof (if required)

Make sure the document is in JPEG, PNG, or PDF format and under 2MB in size.

🖥️ How to Update Aadhaar Online for Free

Follow these steps:

1. Visit https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in

2. Click on ‘Login’ and enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number

3. Enter the Captcha Code and click ‘Send OTP’

4. Enter the OTP received on your registered mobile number

5. Click on ‘Document Update’

6. Upload the relevant document (POI/POA)

7. Review and submit the request

8. You will get a Service Request Number (SRN) to track the update status

⚠️ Important Note

If you miss the free update window, you will have to pay ₹50 for demographic updates and ₹100 for biometric changes. Also, only updates done via the UIDAI website are free—not at physical centres.
