LPG consumers are repeatedly being asked to complete the e-KYC process. Several deadlines have been announced for this, yet many consumers have still not completed the procedure. Consequently, consumers have been given until September 30 to finish the e-KYC process. The previous deadline was September 14, but it has now been extended to September 30. Consumers who fail to complete the e-KYC will not receive subsidized gas cylinders starting October 1.
The government has been consistently granting extensions to complete the LPG e-KYC process; the deadline has now been extended for the fifth time, with the new cutoff set for September 30. From October 1, consumers who miss this deadline will face an increased financial burden.
**Rule changing after a decade**
If LPG consumers do not complete the e-KYC process, they will stop receiving subsidized cylinders. While their connections will not be disconnected, they will be supplied with cylinders at the non-subsidized market rate. A date for the implementation of this system will be announced soon. This rule is being reintroduced after a decade, as oil companies prepare to implement a dual-pricing system.
**What LPG consumers should do**
If Biometric Aadhaar Authentication (BAA) has not been completed for your LPG connection, you should prioritize getting it done. You can complete this process online; however, if you encounter issues online, you can visit your gas agency to get the e-KYC done. This service is provided free of charge.
**How to complete KYC (Online/Offline)**
For online e-KYC, download your gas company's app on your mobile phone. Next, download the UIDAI 'Aadhaar FaceRD App' from the Google Play Store. Log in to the app using your registered mobile number and select the e-KYC option. Upload your details and documents, and authenticate your face using the Aadhaar FaceRD App. Once verification is complete, your e-KYC application will be submitted. You can also complete the KYC process by visiting the gas agency. The person in whose name the gas connection is registered must visit the agency with their Aadhaar card. There, an application will be submitted, biometric verification will be conducted, and your KYC will be completed. Please note that you must complete the KYC process by September 30.
