Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari has announced this plan. This pass is especially for private vehicles like cars, jeeps, vans, and it will be valid at toll plazas of selected National Highways (NH) and National Expressways (NE).

What is the FASTag Annual Pass?

This is a prepaid toll pass that will be valid for one year or 200 trips (whichever is earlier) once purchased. The vehicle associated with this pass will not have to pay any separate charge at the toll plaza. That is, now the tension of paying toll tax every time will be over.

The price of this pass has been kept at Rs 3,000, which is the base price for 2025-26. Through this annual pass, you can make 200 trips for just Rs 3000, that is, each trip will cost only Rs 15. You can buy it online from the Rajmarg Yatra mobile app or the NHAI website.

How will the activation happen?

First, open the Rajmarg Yatra App or go to the NHAI/MoRTH portal.

Fill in the vehicle details and information related to FASTag.

Make sure that your vehicle is not blacklisted and the FASTag is properly affixed to the windshield.

Pay Rs 3000 and your pass will be activated within two hours.

Activation information will be received through SMS.

How long will this FASTag Annual Pass remain valid?

This pass will remain valid for one year or 200 trips, whichever is completed first. After this, your FASTag will again go into normal pay-per-use mode.

Can this pass be used in another vehicle?

No, this pass is non-transferable. It will be valid only for the vehicle on which FASTag is affixed and registered. It will be deactivated if used in any other vehicle.

On which vehicles will this pass not be available?

This facility is only for private, non-commercial vehicles like cars, jeeps, and vans. The pass will be cancelled if it is used on commercial vehicles or other category vehicles. For this, verification will be done from the VAHAN database.

How will one trip be counted?

If you cross a point-based toll plaza, one crossing will be considered as one trip.

If you go and return, it will be considered as two trips.

In the closed tolling system, one entry and exit will be considered equal to one trip.

Keep some important things in mind.

This pass will be valid only at toll plazas built on NHAI and National Expressway.

Tolls run by the state government or local body may charge a separate fee.

This pass is non-refundable and non-transferable.

There is no need to buy a new FASTag to buy an annual pass, it will be activated on the old FASTag itself, provided it meets all the criteria.
