FASTag Annual Toll Pass: Will I have to get another pass after completing 200 trips in a year? Know the new rules here..

FASTag Annual Toll Pass is proving to be very beneficial for people passing through highways and tolls in the country. By spending only Rs 3000, people can cross the toll for free for up to 200 trips in the whole year. The special thing is that no matter how expensive the toll is, if you have this pass, then you will not have to pay any separate charge. This is the reason why passengers who travel long distances daily or frequently make this pass their first choice.
However, the biggest question in people's minds about this pass is whether 200 trips can be completed before the end of the year, and whether the pass can be used again. And if 200 trips are not completed, will the remaining trips be extended to the next year or not? So let's know what the rule is...
What will happen if 200 trips end before the year?
Suppose you had made a FASTag Annual Pass on 15 August 2025, then this pass will be valid till 15 August 2026. In this, you will get a limit of 200 trips. If you have completed these 200 trips in just 6 months, then there is no need to worry. You can get a new pass again on the same vehicle number. Even if you complete 200 trips in 2 months, you will still be able to apply for a new pass. But know that for this, you will have to pay the full 3000 rupees again. No discount or adjustment will be given.
If 200 trips are not completed in a year, will they be transferred?
Many passengers have this question in their mind: if 200 trips are not completed in a year, then the remaining trips should be added to the next year. But the government rules are clear that this pass is valid only for 1 year. That is, if your pass is expiring on 15 August 2026 and you have not completed 200 trips till then, then the remaining trips will be automatically cancelled. To travel next year, you will have to get a new pass again and pay Rs 3000 again.
At which tolls is this pass applicable?
This pass is valid at most tolls in the country, whether it is a small toll or a big one. But it will not apply to some expressways run by the state government. Therefore, if you regularly travel on such an expressway, then you will not be able to use this pass there.
If you travel on the highway several times every month, then this pass is very useful for you. This eliminates the hassle of paying tolls every time and also makes long-distance travel cheaper. But after completing 200 trips within a year, you will have to get the pass made again and if the year ends, the remaining trips will be wasted.
