On the first day of the year 2025, the Modi government opened its coffers for the farmers, in which the government allocated Rs 69,515 crore for the farmers. This decision of the government will not put the burden of inflation on the farmers. Along with this, farmers will also get many benefits.

Actually, farmers need DAP for better crop yield and its price is increasing rapidly in the world market, but the government took an important decision and decided that farmers will continue to get DAP at the old price i.e. Rs 1350 per bag. At the same time, the government will pay the rest of the price.

Expansion of crop insurance scheme

In the cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, it was decided that for the time being farmers will continue to get the benefit of the crop insurance scheme. Let us tell you that the central government started the crop insurance scheme for farmers on 13 February 2016 to compensate for the losses caused by natural disasters. A total outlay of Rs 69,515.71 crore has been fixed in this scheme from 2021-22 to 2025-26. This decision will help in crop risk coverage from non-preventable natural disasters for farmers across the country by 2025-26.

The YES-TECH manual and WINDS portal were prepared by the government to accurately assess the damage caused by natural disasters and to manage weather data. The facility of these portals is currently available in 100 districts of the country. The government has kept a budget of Rs 824.77 crore for its expansion. Also, research and development studies related to agriculture will be funded from this budget.

DAP will continue to be available for Rs 1350

The rising prices of diammonium phosphate (DAP) in the world market will not affect the farmers at present. Let us tell you that according to the price of the world market, the price of a 50 kg DAP bag is around Rs 3000 at present, but farmers will continue to get it for only Rs 1350. For this, a subsidy of Rs 3850 crore will be given by the government.
