Yamuna Expressway: There is good news for the farmers who provided land for the construction of the Yamuna Expressway in Uttar Pradesh. These farmers will no longer have to pay toll tax for travel up to Jewar. To avail of this exemption, farmers must submit necessary documents—such as their identity proof and vehicle Registration Certificate (RC)—at the project office located at the Jewar Toll Plaza. The deadline for this is June 15.

These farmers will be able to travel toll-free up to Jewar.
In fact, Jaypee Infratech Limited, the company operating the expressway, has taken a historic decision to grant a 100% toll tax exemption to the affected farming families. Approximately 4,500 farmers from Gautam Buddha Nagar, who contributed around 1,600 hectares of land for this project, will receive direct benefits in the first phase of this scheme. According to expressway management official GK Sharma, this toll-free travel facility will apply at the Jewar Toll Plaza. The benefit of this exemption will extend not only to the original landowners (the farmers themselves) but also to their sons, provided they submit valid documents proving ownership and identity.

Total length of the Yamuna Expressway: 165.5 kilometers.
It will extend from Aligarh and Mathura to Agra.
This initiative is being implemented in phases, with the current focus entirely on Gautam Buddha Nagar. The first phase covers villages situated within a 40-kilometer radius of the Greater Noida Zero Point.

Subsequently, in later phases, the scheme will be expanded to include farmers from districts such as Aligarh, Mathura, and Agra who also provided land for the expressway. To streamline this process, the expressway management team has recently conducted an extensive public outreach campaign in several affected villages—including Ronija, Neeloni Mirzapur, Achheja, Reelkha, Salarpur, and Bhaipur Brahman—to ensure everyone is well-informed about the application process.

Benefits Upon Document Submission
To avail of the toll tax exemption, farmers must submit their documents at the project office located at the Jewar Toll Plaza; the deadline for this is June 15. For the verification process, farmers must submit 'Form-11' related to land acquisition, a Voter ID card (as proof of identity and address), the vehicle's Registration Certificate (RC), and a mobile number. Meanwhile, the Gautam Buddha Nagar Police and the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority are remaining fully vigilant, keeping in mind past agitations by farmers' organizations regarding toll exemptions.

Officials have clarified that, under the initial agreement, the company is legally bound to issue passes to genuine landowners. The primary objective of this verification drive is to ensure transparency in the process, thereby completely preventing the misuse of the exemption by unauthorized or commercial vehicles posing as eligible ones.
