Now, if you repeatedly share someone else's photo, video, or text on Facebook without giving credit, then this habit can prove to be costly. Meta has implemented a new rule for Facebook, under which strict action will be taken against those who share unoriginal content.

It has been seen on Facebook for a long time that many users and pages are copying the posts made with hard work of original creators without permission and presenting them in their name. In such a situation, the company has now decided to rein in these reposting accounts so that the real creators can get their rights and their content can reach more people.

Facebook has stated in its official blog post that it has launched a long-term plan to reduce spammy and duplicate content and promote real creativity on the platform.

In the first half of 2025, Meta took action against more than 5 lakh accounts that were involved in fake engagement and copy-paste content. Under this, the reach of these accounts was reduced, earnings were banned and in some cases the accounts were deleted.

The company has clearly stated that accounts that repeatedly copy someone else's photo, video or text post, their monetization access will be temporarily stopped. That is, those accounts will not be able to earn money and the reach (distribution) of their posts will also be reduced.

Facebook is also saying that if their system finds a duplicate copy of any content, then its dissemination will be reduced so that more priority can be given to the real creator. The company is also testing a technology in which a link to the original source will be added to duplicate content so that users can reach the original post.

Meta says that they do not mind when a creator gives his opinion on a video, makes a reaction video or expresses his opinion on a trend. But stealing someone else's work without permission and credit will no longer be forgiven.

This new rule of Facebook will give a big benefit to the original content creators and also proper recognition for their hard work. Therefore, if you are active on Facebook and share content, then be cautious now or else both your earnings and reach can be stopped.
