Facebook: Facebook released Passkey support, now password will not be required for login..

Facebook has now started Passkey support in its Android and iOS apps so that users will no longer need to remember their passwords. This new feature will make login and payment through Meta Pay more easy and secure.
What is Passkey?
Passkey is a modern digital security system developed by FIDO Alliance. It is considered more secure than traditional passwords and OTP because it creates a unique digital key for each account that protects against phishing and hacking.
How will it work?
Users will be able to log in through their fingerprint, face scan, or device's PIN.
At the time of login, the app itself will give the user the option to set the passkey or you can also set it by going to Settings > Accounts Center.
The email address associated with your account will be used as the name in the passkey. If there is no email, the phone number will be used.
At present this feature is available only on mobile apps (Android and iOS).
On the desktop, you will still have to log in with a username and password.
What has been said about security?
Facebook claims that the passkey and the biometric information associated with it remain completely safe on your device. Even Facebook itself cannot see it. Now when users make payments through Meta Pay, autofill payment information can be enabled securely through the passkey. In the coming months, log-in and encrypted message backup in Messenger will also be protected by Passkey, although this does not mean that other login methods like passwords will be eliminated.
