Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant stated that under this proposed scheme, the subsidy is not intended for the general public; it will be available only to licensed motorcycle pilots and auto-rickshaw operators. The government believes this will rapidly increase the use of electric vehicles in public transport and reduce operational costs for operators.

Will charging points be set up too?

It is worth noting that the government's initiative goes beyond just subsidies. Approximately 70 new EV charging stations will be set up in the state to facilitate EV adoption.
