eSushrut Clinic launched for small clinics; digital health management services available for just ₹299—check the details..
Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda launched a hospital management system named 'e-Sushrut Clinic' for small clinics on Monday. This digital platform has been developed by C-DAC. Its objective is to promote the digitization of healthcare services in small clinics and provide them with a government-backed, affordable, and user-friendly digital solution.
**Objective of e-Sushrut Clinic**
According to the Ministry of Health, the majority of small OPD clinics in the country still rely on manual systems. Small clinics are often unable to adopt large-scale hospital management systems due to their high cost and complexity. 'e-Sushrut Clinic' aims to bridge this gap and accelerate the implementation of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission.
**Over 800 Health Institutions Onboarded**
The government plans to implement this system across government Primary Health Centres (PHCs), Health and Wellness Centres, and sub-health centres, as well as in private clinics. Currently, more than 800 health institutions have joined the platform, and over 680 health records have been generated through it.
**Key Features**
It is a cloud-based, lightweight hospital management system designed specifically for small outpatient clinics. Key features include patient registration, billing, MIS reporting, speech-to-text capabilities, a clinical decision support system, and an Ayushman Bharat search facility. The system is user-friendly and does not require specialized technical expertise to operate. Furthermore, access is restricted to doctors registered in the Health Professional Registry, ensuring that only certified medical practitioners can avail of this facility.
An agreement will be signed between the National Health Authority (NHA) and C-DAC to promote digital health services. Under this arrangement, C-DAC will handle software maintenance and upgrades, while the NHA will provide financial and technical support. The NHA will also bear the costs associated with patient SMS notifications and cloud hosting for the application. Additionally, technical support will be made available to users via a call center.
3 months of service at ₹299 per month
The base price for the 'e-Sushrut Clinic' service is set at ₹499 per month for five users. However, with a subsidy of ₹200 provided by the NHA, the effective cost will be ₹299 per month. Additionally, the service will be available completely free of charge for the first three months. For adding more than five users, a fee of ₹50 per month will be charged for each additional user.
