EPFO: What changed in PF claims and passbook services? EPFO website back online after 8 days
EPFO Portal: The EPFO online portal has resumed operations following an eight-day technical upgrade. While services are expected to improve post-upgrade, users may encounter some initial technical glitches.
EPFO Update: After remaining offline for nearly eight days due to technical upgrades, the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) online portal is finally operational again. Following the extensive maintenance and system updates, members and employers can once again access the services. According to the EPFO, there may still be slight delays or minor technical issues with certain online features during the initial phase.
The EPFO states that the database and software have undergone major upgrades to make the portal significantly faster and more efficient. The primary objective is to provide users with superior and more reliable services in the future.
Why was the website offline?
The EPFO website was taken offline for maintenance and technical upgrades for about a week. Although the service was initially scheduled to resume on June 29, the timeline was subsequently extended to July 1 and then July 3. The website has now been relaunched, and all major services appear to be gradually returning to normal.
What has changed regarding claim and passbook services?
According to the EPFO, PF claims and service requests will now be processed in a phased manner. For the first two weeks, every application will undergo additional verification and validation to ensure the system functions correctly and without errors. During this period, processing times for PF claims, passbooks, and certain other online services may be longer than usual.
Currently, all services are available for use.
The EPFO states that all software has been upgraded to make the system superior, faster, and more secure. However, they have not disclosed the specific new features added to the passbook or claim services following the upgrade, nor have they indicated how much easier the process will become compared to before.
EPFO issues important advice for members:
Do not submit the same claim or request repeatedly.
Avoid logging in or checking claim status frequently unless necessary.
Members are requested to remain patient during the technical upgrade.
