EPFO: EPFO has shown great speed in service by settling 68.96 lakh claims within three days since the beginning of the financial year 2025-26. This performance is remarkable as compared to last year when only 39% of the claims were settled in three days. Now the automatic claim limit is being increased from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 5 lakh. Its target is to settle all claims within 72 hours, which will provide fast and transparent service to more than 7 crore members.

EPFO: EPFO (Employees Provident Fund Organization) has claimed to settle 50% of the claims in just three days. An important achievement has been achieved by settling about 68.96 lakh claims within just three days since the beginning of the financial year 2025-26. This figure is from April 1 to June 5, 2025. According to a senior EPFO official, this is about 50% of the total claims.

Only 39% of claims were settled in 2024-25

During the last financial year 2024-25, the ratio of claims settled in three days was only 39%, which was equivalent to about 2.34 crore claims. This is much less than this year, which clearly shows that the functioning of EPFO has accelerated.

The process will be accelerated by increasing the limit of automatic claim

According to the official, EPFO is now going to increase the limit of automatic claim settlement from the current Rs 1 lakh to Rs 5 lakh. No additional approval is required for this. The Central Provident Fund Commissioner can approve this change.

Claims related to illness, education and marriage will be settled faster

Currently, claims up to Rs 1 lakh such as those related to illness, education, housing and marriage are automatically settled in three days in case of eligibility. With the introduction of a limit of up to Rs 5 lakh, benefits will be available in more cases.

Target to settle all claims within 72 hours

The ultimate goal of EPFO is to settle all claims like pension, insurance and EPF withdrawal within 72 hours. For this, work is being done on technical upgrade and process optimization.

More than 7 crore members will get benefit

At present, EPFO has more than 7 crore active contributing members. After the new reforms, all these members will get the experience of fast, transparent and reliable service, which will increase both the efficiency and reliability of EPFO.
