EPFO Scheme 2025: The central government has taken a major step for employees who were not yet enrolled in the PF scheme for some reason. On the 73rd foundation day of the EPFO, Labor and Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya launched the Employee Enrollment Scheme 2025. Its objective is to enroll employees who were not yet enrolled in the PF system. This scheme was announced on October 13 and will be implemented from November 1, 2025. It is completely voluntary, meaning companies can enroll their employees themselves.

Who can benefit?
Employees who joined a company between July 1, 2017, and October 31, 2025, but were not registered with the PF scheme. The employee must be alive and employed at the same organization on the date of the announcement. This scheme will also apply to companies under investigation under Sections 7A, 26B of the EPF Act, or Section 8 of the Pension Scheme. Employees who have left the company will not be automatically included in this scheme.

What are the rules and procedures?
The employee's previous PF contribution (employee share) will be waived. The company will only have to deposit its share and pay a nominal penalty of ₹100 per employee. The employee will not be responsible for any past dues.

Why is this scheme special?
This scheme will allow millions of employees to become part of the formal PF system, providing them with financial security for the future. Additionally, there is talk that the current salary limit for PF could be increased from ₹15,000 to ₹25,000 to accommodate more employees.
