Marriage PF Withdrawal: If you are employed and a wedding—either yours or a family member's—is coming up, there is no need to worry. However, few people realize that the funds accumulated in their EPF account can be very useful in such situations. Recently, the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) informed its members via an 'X' (formerly Twitter) post about the facility to withdraw a PF advance for wedding expenses.
Under the new rules, this facility has been made much better and easier to access than before. So, if you wish to withdraw PF money for your own wedding or that of a family member, it is important to first understand how to avail of this facility and how much can be withdrawn.
How many times can you withdraw PF for a wedding?
According to EPFO rules, you can withdraw a PF advance for a wedding a total of 5 times.
Each withdrawal must comply with EPFO's prescribed eligibility criteria and rules.
You can avail of this facility on different occasions as the need arises.
For whose wedding can the advance be obtained?
For your own wedding.
For the wedding of a son or daughter.
For the wedding of a brother or sister.
How much money can be withdrawn?
You can withdraw an advance of up to 75% of the amount accumulated in your PF account for the wedding.
You must retain at least 25% of the amount in your account.
The withdrawal amount will depend on your available PF balance and EPFO rules.
How to claim PF advance online?
Log in to the EPFO Member e-Sewa Portal.
Sign in using your UAN and password.
Go to 'Online Services' and select the 'Claim' option (Form-31, Form-19 & Form-10C).
Verify your bank account details. Go to the PF Advance (Form-31) section and select the 'Marriage' option.
Enter the amount and submit the claim after OTP verification.

Wedding invitation card
Bank account details
Aadhaar, PAN, and bank KYC
Mobile number linked to Aadhaar
