Please note that the facility to activate a UAN or generate a new one is no longer available directly on the EPFO ​​portal. You will now need to use a different app for this purpose: the UMANG app. Following a software upgrade, EPFO ​​has removed two services from its website, including:

• The facility to generate or allot a new UAN.
• The facility for UAN activation. Both these services will now be available exclusively on the UMANG app.

• EPFO recently carried out a technical upgrade of its Unified Member Portal.

• It is also required to access other EPFO ​​services.

How do you activate your UAN?

Follow these steps to activate your UAN:

• First, download the UMANG app.
• Select the EPFO ​​service.
• Click on 'UAN Service Through Face Auth'.
• Select the 'UAN Activation' option.

Complete the Face Authentication process using Aadhaar. Then, activate the UAN by completing all the necessary steps.
