EPFO KYC: Financial challenges become huge after retirement. The government also understands this and the Employees Provident Fund (PF) was started to provide a happy retirement to the citizens of the country. Every month a fixed amount is deducted from your earnings and deposited in your PF account. When you retire after working for many years, you can withdraw this money. But do you know that if you do not update the KYC of your PF account, you cannot claim your hard-earned money and withdraw it? Let us tell you how you can update the KYC of your PF account.

Why is KYC important?

The full form of KYC is 'Know Your Customer'. This is a kind of process in which a bank or financial institution can get information about your identity by verifying your documents. Thanks to this process, the bank or institution ensures that no other person can access your money. In the recent past, cases of fraud have increased rapidly in India, due to which the Employees' Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has made KYC mandatory. If you do not get the KYC of your PF account done then you will not be able to claim the money.

Update KYC like this

To update your KYC in your PF account, you will need some documents. Before we tell you about the process of updating KYC, let us know which documents are required for this. To update KYC, you will need the National Population Register (NPR), Aadhar Card, PAN Card, Bank Account Number, Passport Number, and Driver License. To update KYC like this:

Step 1: Go to the official website of EPFO, click on the ‘Services’ tab, and then select the ‘For Employees’ option from the drop-down menu that opens.

Second Step: After this, go to the services option and select the option of ‘Member UAN/Online Service (OCS/OTCP)’. After this, a new page will open in front of you. Enter your UAN number here, after which you will be able to log in by entering the OTP received on your mobile.

Step 3: After logging in, select the option of ‘Manage’ and here select the option of ‘KYC’. After this, a list of documents will appear in front of you. Here you can update documents like PAN card, Aadhar card, passport, bank account, driving license. Enter the information here and submit.

Fourth Step: After this, your information will go to the company for approval. Once approved, ‘Verified’ will appear in your EPF account. After this, go to the ‘Manage’ tab and select ‘KYC’ again. Now you can see the status of your documents on the screen.
