The EPFO has issued notices to approximately 800 companies in Gautam Buddha Nagar, directing them to complete PF registration for their employees. These companies have been given a deadline of October 31. Failure to comply with the regulations could result in punitive action.

While PF contributions are deducted from employees’ salaries, the question remains: does every employee actually have a PF account? An EPFO investigation involving around 800 companies in Gautam Buddha Nagar has revealed that employees in these firms have not yet been registered for PF. The EPFO has granted these companies a grace period until October 31; non-compliance after this date may lead to action.

The EPFO has issued notices instructing these companies to finalize the PF registration process for their staff. The department has clearly stated that if the process is not completed within the stipulated timeframe, action may be taken against the concerned companies.

According to the EPFO, it is the company’s responsibility to enroll employees in the PF scheme. PF offers employees not only the benefit of future savings but also financial security during difficult times. Despite this, many companies still fail to bring their employees under the PF ambit.

Which companies received the notice?

Approximately 800 establishments have been identified, including restaurants, manpower suppliers, building contractors, transport companies, and other business entities. They are required to complete PF registration for their employees by October 31.

EPFO also educating companies on regulations

Suyash Pandey stated that the EPFO is educating companies and employees about PF regulations and their respective rights. A campaign is currently underway to facilitate this. Companies are also being provided with information on how to complete the PF registration process.

The EPFO maintains that companies will first be informed about the necessary regulations. If the directives are not followed after October 31, action will be initiated against the non-compliant companies. Subsequently, the EPFO will assess how many companies have successfully brought their employees under the PF coverage.
