EPF/EPS e-nomination: Nomination is necessary for Employees Provident Fund (EPF) account holders. Through nomination, the nominee can easily get this fund in case of the untimely demise of the subscriber. Therefore account holders must keep their nominee details up-to-date. For this, an e-nomination can be filed. Earlier the process of changing the nominee was a bit lengthy and the process was completed through the employer only. But, now subscribers can change the nominee by visiting the UAN portal of EPFO. If you also want to change the nominee, then the step-by-step process mentioned here can be useful for you.

What are the rules of e-nomination?
According to EPFO, any provident fund account holder can nominate only his family members for e-nomination. However, if the person does not have a family, then he is free to nominate any other person as well. However, the nomination will be canceled if someone else is nominated in case of family. For e-nomination, you will have to upload your Aadhaar number, address, date of birth, mobile number, bank account, and scanned photograph of the nominee on the portal.

How to do e-nomination?
Members can do e-nomination by logging into their account on EPFO's 'Member Service Portal'. For e-nomination, your Universal Account Number (UAN) must be activated. Apart from this, it is necessary to have your photo on the member service portal. Apart from this, it is also necessary to link your UAN with your Aadhaar. The account can be verified through OTP only when Aadhaar is linked.

What to do to change the nominee?
To complete the process of changing the nominee, your Aadhaar must be linked with EPF. Along with this, your profile picture should also be updated. It is also important to note here that the mobile number linked to your Aadhaar should be active. This is because in this process you will need to do verification through OTP.

1. First of all log on to EPFO's website epfindia.gov.in.
2. In the 'Services' tab, click on the 'For Employees' tab from the drop-down menu.
3. Now log in with your UAN.
4. In the 'Manage' tab, select 'e-nomination'.
5. Save Permanent and Current Addresses.
6. To change your family declaration, select 'Yes'.
7. Enter the nominee details and click on save.
8. Now proceed by clicking on the e-sign icon.
