Entry of old vehicles into Delhi to be banned; major updates also expected regarding mobile calling and gas cylinders..
Rules Changing From November 1, 2026: Several significant changes affecting the lives of the common man are set to come into effect across the country and the National Capital Region (NCR) starting November 1, 2026. To curb fraudulent calls, a government-backed caller ID system—which will not require any third-party apps—is being introduced. Additionally, a complete ban on the entry of non-BS6 vehicles will be enforced in Delhi to control pollution, and, as is the case every month, new prices for LPG cylinders and fuel will be announced.
At the beginning of each month, various economic, administrative, and transport-related rules in the country often change. The updates taking effect from November 1, 2026, are particularly significant. From a new caller ID system designed to provide relief from spam calls to a ban on the operation of older vehicles on Delhi’s roads, several measures are being implemented that will directly impact the general public. Let’s take a detailed look at these changes.
Ban on the entry of non-BS6 vehicles in Delhi
To tackle rising pollution levels in the national capital during the winter season, strict restrictions are being implemented as part of a 'Winter Action Plan.' Consequently, the entry and operation of non-BS6 vehicles in Delhi will be completely prohibited from November 1, 2026, to January 31, 2027. During this period, only BS6-compliant, electric (EV), or CNG-powered vehicles will be permitted on the capital's roads. Violating these rules could result in heavy fines.
New caller ID rule for mobile users
Spam and fraudulent calls have become a major issue, and the government has taken decisive action to address them. As part of this initiative, a government-backed caller ID service will be launched on 4G and 5G networks, effective from November 1. Moving forward, whenever you receive a call from an unknown number, the caller's real name—as registered in the telecom database (based on KYC)—will appear on your phone screen. You will no longer need a third-party app, such as Truecaller, for this purpose.
New Prices for LPG Cylinders, CNG-PNG, and Jet Fuel
As is the case on the first of every month, energy and fuel prices are set to be revised. On November 1st, state-run oil companies will announce new prices for domestic and commercial LPG cooking gas cylinders. Additionally, there may be changes to the prices of aviation turbine fuel (ATF) as well as CNG and PNG, which will directly impact transportation and travel costs.
