Empowering Women: Maharashtra Begins October Payout Under Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana, ₹1500 to Reach Bank Accounts Soon
The Maharashtra government has brought relief and happiness to thousands of women across the state with a new update under its flagship welfare initiative — the Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana. Women beneficiaries who had been waiting for the October installment can now rejoice, as the ₹1500 payment has started reaching their Aadhaar-linked bank accounts from today.
The announcement was officially made by Maharashtra’s Minister for Women and Child Development, Aditi Tatkare, who confirmed that the delayed payment process is now underway. The delay was primarily due to pending E-KYC (Electronic Know Your Customer) verifications, which are mandatory for every beneficiary to continue receiving the monthly benefit.
Delay Caused by E-KYC Verification
Under the Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana, eligible women in Maharashtra receive ₹1500 every month as part of the government’s mission to promote women’s financial independence and security. However, due to incomplete E-KYC procedures, the October payout had been temporarily paused.
Minister Tatkare clarified that from Tuesday onwards, the government has begun depositing funds into the accounts of those beneficiaries whose E-KYC process has been successfully completed. The initiative ensures that no eligible woman is left out of the scheme’s benefits due to administrative delays.
Mandatory E-KYC Before November 18
The government has set a firm deadline for completing the E-KYC process. All beneficiaries must finish their verification by November 18, 2025, to continue receiving monthly payments without interruption. The minister urged all women to ensure their Aadhaar-linked bank accounts are updated and verified, as any incomplete KYC may result in payment delays or suspension of benefits.
Officials have also reminded beneficiaries that the E-KYC process can be completed at nearby government service centers, banks, or through the official portal to make the procedure easier and more accessible.
Symbol of Women Empowerment
While sharing an update on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Minister Aditi Tatkare described the Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana as “a continuous revolution in women empowerment.” Her message underlined how this initiative has become a pillar of financial support and dignity for women across Maharashtra.
Launched to promote women’s self-reliance, the scheme has been instrumental in transforming lives—particularly in low-income and rural households. By providing ₹1500 each month, it helps women manage essential household expenses, support their children’s education, and cover healthcare needs.
A Lifeline Amid Rising Living Costs
In today’s challenging economic conditions, where inflation continues to affect household budgets, this monthly financial assistance serves as a crucial relief. For many families, the amount may seem modest, but it plays a vital role in balancing daily needs and providing a sense of stability.
Moreover, the Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana isn’t just about financial aid—it reflects a broader vision of empowering women to become financially independent and confident decision-makers within their families and communities.
Government’s Continued Commitment
The Maharashtra government has reiterated its commitment to expanding the reach of the scheme and ensuring that every eligible woman in the state can access its benefits seamlessly. Regular monitoring and digital verification mechanisms are being strengthened to ensure transparency and timely distribution of funds.
As the October installment begins crediting into beneficiaries’ accounts, it marks another step forward in the state’s journey toward inclusive development and gender equity. With the next cycle already planned, the government aims to make the process smoother and ensure no sister is left behind.
