Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta launched the portal on Monday (September 21) to facilitate registration for the scheme, which provides for the installation of free solar panels on the rooftops of electricity consumers' homes. Gupta inaugurated the 'Delhi Solar Portal' under the 'PM Surya Ghar Yojana' at an event held at the Secretariat.

The facility to submit solar applications commenced on September 21 at 2:30 PM. This means that residents of Delhi can now apply online for solar panels. To apply, you must visit the government's official 'Delhi Solar Portal'. Once on the portal, navigate to the 'Apply for Rooftop Solar' section to submit an application under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana. During the application process, you will be required to provide details regarding your electricity connection and the proposed solar panel installation.

**Solar Panel Subsidy Rules**
The Central Government provides a subsidy for solar panels. Domestic consumers receive a subsidy of ₹30,000 per kilowatt for solar systems up to 2 kW, while a subsidy of ₹18,000 per kilowatt is provided for systems between 2 kW and 3 kW. Additionally, a subsidy of up to ₹78,000 is available for solar panels with a capacity exceeding 3 kW. However, the subsidy is not limited to the Central Government's contribution; the State Government also provides a subsidy. Under the Delhi Solar Policy, domestic consumers receive a subsidy of ₹10,000 per kilowatt, subject to a maximum subsidy limit of ₹30,000.
