E-Bike Didi Scheme: Women in Delhi will earn thousands of rupees by riding e-bikes, know how the e-Bike Didi scheme will work?
E-Bike Didi Scheme: The Delhi government may soon launch the e-Bike Didi Scheme. The e-Bike Didi Scheme aims to promote women's empowerment by providing employment, improving women's safety in Delhi, and reducing pollution. According to officials, the scheme is currently in the proposal stage, and the government is considering changes. Once the scheme is launched, young women living in Delhi will benefit from it. However, after the successful pilot project, the scheme will be implemented across the city in a phased manner.
How will the e-Bike Didi Scheme work?
The e-Bike Didi Scheme will be modeled after major private apps like Ola and Rapido. Rides can be booked online, digital payments can be made, and women can earn money by riding e-bikes.
How will women passengers benefit?
Under this scheme, women bikers will provide rides only to women on electric two-wheelers. They will operate at major historical tourist sites, metro stations, and bus stops in Delhi-NCR. This will provide women with safe travel, convenience, and confidence. Discussions are underway with relevant departments, including Tourism, Transport, and Women and Child Development.
Partnership with Bharat Taxi (Tie-Up)
The government is considering partnering with ride-hailing platforms to implement this scheme. In particular, the newly launched Bharat Taxi could become a key partner. Recently, the Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation (DTTDC) signed an MoU with Bharat Taxi to jointly operate cab services in Delhi.
How will the scheme be implemented?
All aspects of the scheme are currently under discussion to ensure reasonable fare prices, ensure women's safety, establish fixed routes, and create an economic model that can be easily implemented with private companies.
