If you too had a problem with the fact that you have to give a photocopy of the Aadhaar card every time you need it, then there is good news for you. In the coming few weeks, you will not need to give a photocopy of your Aadhaar card. Instead, you will be able to share electronic Aadhaar (in full or masked form) through a QR code through a new mobile app. The government is going to launch a new app for Aadhaar.

You will benefit from UIDAI's new facility.

According to a report by Times of India, UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) CEO Bhuvnesh Kumar has said that a new app has been prepared and about 2,000 machines out of about one lakh have been linked to this new tool. He said: "You will soon be able to do everything from home, except giving fingerprints and iris." This will include address updates, mobile numbers, changes in name, and even corrections in date of birth.

Everything except biometrics will be updated at home.

By November, UIDAI will start a new process under which the address and other information of citizens will be automatically updated using birth certificates, matriculation certificates, driver's licenses, passports, PAN, PDS, and MNREGA data. This will reduce the possibility of getting an Aadhaar made with fake documents and will also make the process easier. UIDAI is also trying to connect with the electricity bill database, which will make identity verification even simpler.

Security and control with QR code-based Aadhaar sharing

Now you will be able to share your Aadhaar by scanning a QR code through mobile-to-mobile or app-to-app, that too only after your consent. This method will give you complete control over your data and will have many uses, such as: hotel check-in, identity verification in train, to prevent fraud at the time of property registration, etc. UIDAI is motivating the states to verify the identity of the person through Aadhaar at the time of property registration so that fraud can be prevented.
