Drone Rules 2024: As soon as the festival of Diwali arrives, people want to do something new along with lights. Flying a drone is also one of them. Do you want to capture the special moments of Diwali and Dhanteras with the help of a drone shoot, then it is important to know the rules related to it. Flying a drone is not a trivial matter. There are some rules and laws for this which are very important to follow. If you violate these rules, then you may also have to pay a fine of up to Rs 1 lakh.

Know these rules before flying a drone.
If you plan to shoot with a drone, then before doing so, definitely know these rules related to drones.

Drone Registration: Drone registration is mandatory to fly a drone in India. For this, you have to apply by visiting an online portal DigitalSky.

Drone Acknowledgement Number: After the registration of the drone, you will get a drone acknowledgment number. This number has to be kept with your drone always. This is the unique identification number (UIN) of the drone.

Geo-fencing: India's airspace is divided into three parts - Green Zone, Yellow Zone, and Red Zone. There are different conditions for flying drones in these three zones.

Remote Pilot License: Before flying a drone, you have to obtain a Remote Pilot License. This license is obtained after completing the prescribed training and passing the test.

Where can't you fly a drone?

Green Zone: This is the area where you can fly a drone without any permission but with some limitations. In this area, you can fly a drone up to a height of 400 feet or 120 meters. If you want to fly a drone at a higher height, then you have to get permission from the concerned authority.

Yellow Zone: Flying drones are prohibited in this airspace. If you want to fly a drone here, then you have to get permission from the Air Traffic Control Authority. The area within 8 and 12 kilometers of a working airport is called the Yellow Zone.

Red Zone: This is the area where there is a strict ban on flying drones. These are very sensitive areas, such as military bases etc. Only the central government can permit to fly drones here.

You have to follow these rules to fly a drone or shoot with a drone. If you violate the drone rules, you can be fined up to Rs 1 lakh. You can submit all drone-related applications on the DigitalSky portal.
