Do not study this subject online while working, your degree will not be considered valid

Now online or part-time LLB degrees will not be valid in the country. The Law Ministry has clarified that advocacy is a serious profession and regular studies and practical training are necessary for it.
The demand for law education i.e. LLB studies has increased rapidly in the country in the last few years. Now not only the youth, but also the employed people want to study law. The reason is clear - to start a new career by becoming a lawyer after retirement. Many people have started studying LLB online while working, while some are preparing for it. But there is bad news for them.
Union Law and Justice Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal has clearly said in the Rajya Sabha that no institute in the country is allowed to offer LLB studies online or during holidays. In such a situation, the degrees of those who are studying law online while working will not be valid.
Questions on practicing law after retirement
The Law Ministry also said that many government officials and professionals want to start practicing law after retirement. But if they take LLB degree online or from vacation classes, then their legal expertise will be doubted.
According to the ministry, practicing law is not a light or non-serious profession. This profession is not only limited to the court but also affects the lives and rights of the citizens of the country. Therefore, it is necessary that whoever becomes a lawyer, he should have studied law with full discipline and high standards.
BCI cited
In its statement, the Law Ministry, citing the Bar Council of India (BCI), said that till now no university or institute has been allowed to offer online or part-time studies of LLB.
According to BCI, LLB is not just a course to obtain a degree, but it prepares students to work in the justice system. In this, practical experience is as important as the knowledge gained from books.
Why is LLB not possible online?
Union Minister Meghwal told in a written reply in Parliament that LLB studies are not possible online. He said that this study includes not only lectures and books, but also many other important activities -
Moot Court (practice of debate in a mock court)
Internship (experience of working with lawyers and courts)
Assignments and homework
Examinations and practical training
All these experiences are necessary for students to understand the nuances of law and to become proficient in advocacy. But it is not possible to do them completely through online medium.
Why are strict rules necessary?
The government says that falling standards of LLB studies can be dangerous for the country's judicial system. If people adopt shortcuts only to get a degree, then they will not be able to truly deliver justice and argue in court.
