Considering the festive crowds and security arrangements, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has appealed to people to plan their travels in advance and be mindful of timings. The metro service schedule for this festival of lights in Delhi will be slightly different from normal days, ensuring smooth and safe travel.

Delhi Metro timings will change on the eve of Diwali.

According to an update released by the Delhi Metro, on Sunday, October 19th, 2025, the eve of Diwali, metro services on the Pink, Magenta, and Grey lines will begin at 6:00 AM instead of the usual 7:00 AM. This is to provide additional convenience to commuters heading to markets, temples, and their homes early in the morning ahead of the festival. On Monday, October 20, 2025, Diwali Day, the last metro train on all lines will depart from terminal stations at 10 p.m.

Services will not run until 11 p.m., as usual. This change will also apply to the Airport Express Line. However, metro trains will operate on their normal schedule throughout the day, with only the last metro train time advanced by one hour.
