RailOne App Train Ticket Discount: There is good news for passengers who travel using general tickets. Rail passengers who travel on general tickets can avail a 3% discount if they purchase their tickets online via the RailOne App. The Railways has announced an extension of this discount scheme; the bonus offer has now been extended until March 31, 2027. This decision by the Railways will result in direct savings on ticket costs for passengers.

A 3% discount means that if the fare between two stations is ₹400, you will save ₹12 on the ticket price.

Passengers often have to wait in long queues for general tickets. It becomes particularly troublesome when the train is about to arrive and the passenger does not yet have a ticket. However, the availability of general ticket booking via the RailOne App has alleviated this inconvenience for passengers, while the special discount also helps them save money.

Discount Available on All General Tickets
The Railways has clarified that if passengers book unreserved (general) tickets using the RailOne App, they will receive a 3% discount on the total fare; effectively, they will pay 3% less than the standard fare.

For instance, if you purchase a ticket costing ₹400 for a journey, you would pay ₹388 on the RailOne App after the 3% discount—saving you ₹12. Since 3% of ₹400 is ₹12, this amount is deducted from your fare.

This discount applies to all forms of digital payment. Passengers can avail of the discount and enjoy a seamless payment experience by using UPI, net banking, credit cards, or debit cards.

Saving Time and Avoiding Crowds
The most significant advantage is the ability to book general tickets for your journey from the comfort of your home, eliminating the need to stand in queues at ticket counters. You can book your ticket before reaching the station and proceed directly to board the train. This saves you time as well. Moreover, the ticket is entirely digital, eliminating the risk of losing it, as it remains saved within the mobile app itself.

However, the Railways has clarified that tickets booked via the RailOne app cannot be displayed on other platforms, such as WhatsApp. Additionally, you must have the mobile phone registered with RailOne with you.
