Keeping physical copies of all these documents can be quite cumbersome, due to this inconvenience the trend of digital document storage has increased, the Government of India launched the DigiLocker service in 2015. Which documents you cannot store in DigiLocker:

Non-government documents: You cannot store personal documents such as contracts from private companies, personal receipts or informal documents that are not issued by government recognized institutions.

Banking and sensitive information: Sensitive details such as bank account information, ATM PIN, credit card details or passwords cannot be stored in DigiLocker for security reasons.

Handwritten documents: DigiLocker does not accept handwritten documents or papers that have not been digitally authenticated.

Documents you can store in DigiLocker:

Aadhaar Card: Your unique identification number.

PAN Card: Permanent Account Number for tax purposes.

Driving License: Your official license to drive a vehicle.

Voter ID: Identity proof for voting.

Vehicle Registration Certificate: Proof of ownership of a vehicle.

Academic documents: School certificates, such as 10th and 12th mark sheets.

Property tax receipts: Record of property tax payments.
