Railway Cancelled Trains News: Due to dense fog, the Railways has halted several important trains this winter. Routes are being altered due to poor visibility, potentially causing inconvenience to travelers.

Railway Cancelled Trains News: As winter approaches in North India, fog begins to show its true potential, and the railways are particularly affected. Today, almost every household plans their travel by train. However, fog complicates these plans. Due to poor visibility, trains run slowly.

Long queues form on platforms, and travel times increase by several hours. A typical 15-hour journey stretches to 20 hours in winter. This year, in view of the predicted dense fog, the Railways has decided to cancel 56 important trains this winter. Check if your train is included.

How long will these trains remain cancelled?

According to information received from the Railways, in view of the possibility of dense fog, the Railways has ordered the cancellation of 56 trains on several important routes from December 1, 2025, to March 1, 2026. This is to avoid taking any risks due to low visibility and to avoid potential accidents caused by delays at night. Passengers traveling on the Punjab route, in particular, will feel the direct impact. According to officials, advance booking for these trains was already suspended, and notices have been sent to all station masters. The cancellation status of the trains has been updated in the reservation system to avoid any last-minute inconvenience to passengers.

These Routes Will Be Affected

Railway officials say this entire move is part of the winter preparation plan. Visibility becomes so low in winter that running long-distance trains is fraught with danger. During these times, trains frequently stop, are delayed for hours, and operations are also slowed. This decision will also impact Chandigarh, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, and other major stations in Punjab. Daily Intercity passengers and those traveling to Jammu and Vaishno Devi may face some difficulties during these months.
