New Traffic Rules: Major news has emerged regarding traffic management in the national capital, Delhi. The Delhi government has issued strict directives mandating that all traffic challans (fines) be settled within a period of 45 days.

Delhi Traffic Latest Update: The national capital, Delhi, is a city that never sleeps. Maintaining discipline within the capital is, in itself, a monumental challenge. However, to tackle this serious challenge, the government led by Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has devised a remarkably simple solution. This initiative centers on 'Digital Governance' and 'Time-bound Justice,' aiming to ensure that the strictest possible action is taken against those who violate traffic regulations.

Strict Surveillance: What Are the Key Proposals?

Under this new scheme introduced by the Delhi government, ignoring traffic challans will no longer be as easy as it was in the past. In this regard, Rekha Gupta's administration has stated unequivocally that the settlement of every challan must be fully completed within a stipulated timeframe. Furthermore, violators will be required to adhere to traffic regulations with the utmost strictness. However, the most significant change introduced by this rule is the regulation of the process for directly challenging challans in court; this measure aims to significantly reduce the burden currently placed on the judicial system.

Central Motor Vehicles Rules to Be Implemented

Additionally, the Delhi government is planning to soon implement the amended Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, across the capital. The primary objective of these amendments is to render the challan issuance process entirely free from human intervention. Concurrently, rapid upgrades will be made to the digital infrastructure, enabling the easy tracking and monitoring of all types of vehicular activity on Delhi's roads. Moreover, the increased transparency resulting from these new regulations is expected to bolster the confidence of Delhi residents in the administration.

Every Citizen's Safety Is Now Paramount

Above all, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has emphatically stated that, henceforth, the safety of every citizen on the nation's roads shall be considered the absolute highest priority. This significant initiative by the government will foster a safe driving culture on the capital's roads. Furthermore, the CM explained that once citizens realize that every violation is being captured in digital records and accounted for within a stipulated timeframe, a substantial decline will be observed—not only in negligent driving but also in the daily road accidents occurring on the streets.
