Delhi Metro timings have changed; the metro will run from 4 am on these two days; check out the schedule.
Delhi Metro Timings Changed: The Delhi Metro has changed its timings for two specific days due to the MCD by-elections. On these two days, the first metro train will run at 4 am, and the last night train will also be delayed.
Delhi Metro Timings Changed: The Delhi Metro is the country's largest metro rail service, and millions of people rely on it daily, whether for their office commute or long journeys. Its network of lines is so extensive that a large part of the city depends on this network from morning to night. Meanwhile, due to the MCD by-elections, the metro schedule has been changed for two days.
To ensure the smooth movement of election-related employees and staff, the DMRC has decided to start service much earlier than usual. Passengers will have to change their plans slightly for these two days, as the metro will operate differently from its normal schedule. Let us explain the changed schedule.
Metro will run from 4 a.m. on these two days.
According to the DMRC, to ensure easy access to polling personnel during the MCD by-elections, the metro will start much earlier than its scheduled time on November 30 and December 3. Sunday, November 30, is voting day, and the first metro will depart from all terminal stations at 4 a.m. Usually, trains don't depart this early on Sundays. However, special arrangements have been made this time.
From 4 a.m. to 6 a.m., the metro will run every 30 minutes to avoid overcrowding in the early hours. After 6 a.m., trains will return to their normal Sunday timetable. This means the rest of the day will be the same as on any other Sunday. This will be a significant relief for those involved in the by-elections, and ordinary commuters will also be able to catch the metro at this early hour if needed.
The last train will depart at this time
Not only will the first metro depart early on November 30, but the last metro at night will also depart slightly later than usual. According to the DMRC, the last train from all terminal stations will depart at 11:30 pm, approximately 30 minutes later than usual. This means that employees returning from election duty or passengers traveling late at night will be able to reach home easily.
Not only this, the starting timing will also change on December 3rd, as the results of the by-elections will be announced on that day. The metro will also start running at 4 am on the day of the results. On both days, the DMRC's focus will be to ensure that people involved in the voting and counting work do not face any difficulties in commuting, and that other passengers are also not inconvenienced.
