Delhi Metro Extends Last Train Timings: If you travel by the Delhi Metro, this news could prove to be extremely useful for you. In view of the IPL match scheduled to take place in Delhi on May 5, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has modified the metro service timings for a single day (specifically May 5). Tomorrow—May 5—the Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings are set to face off in an IPL match (DC vs CSK) at the capital's Arun Jaitley Stadium. Consequently, and with the convenience of passengers in mind, the departure times for the last trains on all metro lines have been extended.

Why were the Metro timings extended?

Essentially, thousands of spectators are expected to attend the IPL match. Since these matches often run late into the night, the decision to extend metro services was taken to better manage the large crowds dispersing simultaneously and to facilitate smoother travel for commuters. Furthermore, if the need arises, the timings may be subject to further adjustments based on the actual time the match concludes. Passengers are advised to keep an eye on official updates.

Until what time will the Delhi Metro operate on May 5?

Important Advice for Passengers:

Crowds may be heavy following the match; therefore, please arrive at the station well in advance.
Keep your Metro Card or ticket ready beforehand.
Plan your late-night travel itinerary accordingly.

This change applies exclusively to May 5. From May 6 onwards, metro timings will revert to normal, and the last trains will operate between 11:00 PM and 11:30 PM, just as they did previously. Therefore, whether you are heading out to watch the match or planning to travel late at night, you can now plan your journey in accordance with these new timings.
