Property registration rules in Delhi are set to change. Under the new system, individuals will be able to register their properties at any sub-registrar office across Delhi. The Delhi government has decided to take this step to combat corruption within sub-registrar offices. Consequently, the number of sub-registrar offices in the capital has been increased from 22 to 29. A proposal regarding this rule will soon be tabled at a Delhi government cabinet meeting.

**Facility for registration from the comfort of home**
The Delhi government is also working on a system to enable property registration from home. This will allow people to handle the entire process—from application to registration—easily via mobile phones and computers. Documents will be sent to the sub-registrar solely for a digital signature for a brief period, after which they will be transferred to the buyer's DigiLocker. This facility for remote application and registration is highly significant.

**New circle rates to be implemented in unauthorized colonies**
Speaking at an event in Najafgarh, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta stated that the government has completed the work on the long-pending revision of circle rates, and they will be implemented soon. This means that new circle rates will come into effect for unauthorized colonies in the capital.

The Chief Minister added that 10 development projects, costing over ₹33 crore, are already underway across six other unauthorized colonies in the area. The primary objective is to provide residents with better roads, drainage systems, and basic amenities.
