Delhi E-Rickshaw Registration: Significant news has emerged for e-rickshaw drivers in the national capital, Delhi. After a hiatus of five months, the portal for new e-rickshaw registrations is set to reopen once again. Starting May 15, the registration of new e-rickshaws will be possible in Delhi. It is worth noting that e-rickshaw registration in Delhi had been suspended for the past five months, as the Transport Department was working on methods to regulate the growing number of these vehicles. E-rickshaw drivers will also need to pay special attention to certain specific requirements during the registration process. Let us explore these details in depth.

**Only One E-Rickshaw to be Registered Per Driving License**
According to the Transport Department, only one e-rickshaw will now be registered per driving license. Previously, it was possible to register more than one e-rickshaw in the name of a single license holder. This new decision is expected to help in removing unauthorized vehicles from the roads and assist in curbing regulatory violations.

**This Certificate Will Be Mandatory Along with the DL**
As per the Transport Corporation, individuals seeking to register an e-rickshaw in Delhi will now be required to undergo a two-week training program. Applicants must complete this training beforehand; the registration process will be finalized only after the corresponding certificate is submitted along with their driving license.

**A New E-Rickshaw Policy Also Under Preparation**
In April of this year, the Transport Corporation also revoked a previous order that had permitted companies to register multiple electric carts and e-rickshaws in their own names. This decision was taken to keep the rapidly increasing number of e-rickshaws on the roads under control. In the near future, the Transport Department intends to enforce stricter regulations regarding e-rickshaws through regular enforcement drives. Additionally, a new comprehensive e-rickshaw policy is currently being formulated to ensure better regulation and management of these vehicles.
