The Central Government has released new rates for Industrial Dearness Allowance (IDA) for officers and non-unionized supervisors working in public sector enterprises (CPSEs). These revised rates will be effective from October 1, 2025. According to the order, this change will apply to employees working on the 1987, 1992, 1997, 2007, and 2017 pay scales.
According to a notification issued by the Department of Public Enterprises, Ministry of Finance, the new rates have been determined based on the increased AICPI (All India Consumer Price Index). This decision will directly impact the salaries of millions of employees and officers working in government enterprises.
The dearness allowance has been increased by 178 points at the rate of Rs. 2 per point, resulting in a total increase of Rs. 356. With an average AICPI of 9611, these employees will now receive a dearness allowance of ₹17,812.
For employees in the 1992 pay scale, the average AICPI between June and August 2025 was 9611. This represents an increase of 774.5% at the link point 1099. The new DA rates will be as follows.
774.5% allowance for those earning up to ₹3,500 (minimum ₹17,024)
580.9% for those earning ₹3,500 to ₹6,500 (minimum ₹27,108)
464.7% for those earning ₹6,500 to ₹9,500 (minimum ₹37,759)
387.2% for those earning more than ₹9,500 (minimum ₹44,147)
The government has also clarified that amounts of 50 paise or more will be rounded up to the next higher rupee, while those of less than 50 paise will be ignored. Rates have also been increased for employees working in the 1997, 2007, and 2017 pay scales.

2007 scale: 233.2%
2017 scale: 51.8%
