DA Hike: Dearness Allowance for Madhya Pradesh government employees increased by 2%; arrears will be paid in 3 installments..
MP DA Hike 2026: There is good news for government employees and pensioners in Madhya Pradesh. The state government has announced a 2% hike in the Dearness Allowance (DA), offering a Diwali gift to its employees. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav shared this information on his X (formerly Twitter) handle today, October 30. This decision will benefit lakhs of state employees. The increased DA will be reflected in the salary for October, which will be disbursed in November.
DA Hike to be Effective from January
According to the government's announcement, the 2% increase in the Dearness Allowance will be effective from January 2026. This means employees will also receive arrears for the nine-month period from January to September. The government will pay these arrears in three equal monthly installments rather than as a lump sum.
Salary to Increase Starting in November
The increased Dearness Allowance will be paid to employees in cash. This will commence with the salary for the month of October, which will be credited to employees' accounts in November. Consequently, the monthly salary received by employees will also see an increase.
Benefits for Employees Across Various Departments
The Madhya Pradesh government's decision will benefit employees working in various departments, including education, health, police, and revenue. Pensioners are also covered under this decision; the government has stated that it is mindful of the interests of both serving and retired employees.
Pensioners Also to Benefit from 2% DA Hike
The state government has also provided relief to pensioners by increasing their Dearness Allowance by 2%. For pensioners, this hike will be effective from July 2026, meaning retired employees will also receive the benefit of the increased allowance starting from July.
Official Order Expected Soon
This government decision is expected to provide additional relief to employees during the festive season. By distributing the arrears in three installments, the government ensures that the state exchequer does not face an excessive, immediate financial burden. Official orders regarding the new DA (Dearness Allowance) rates and the method of payment are expected to be issued by the Finance Department. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has also stated that the government is committed to ensuring that employees and pensioners receive what is rightfully theirs.
The Central Government has also increased the DA.
Recently, the Central Government also raised the Dearness Allowance for its employees by 3 percent. The decision to increase the DA is based on a formula linked to the All-India Consumer Price Index (AICPI). The objective is to mitigate the impact of inflation and provide relief to employees by adjusting their salaries in line with rising prices.
