DA and DR Hike News: On the auspicious occasion of Dhanteras, government employees and pensioners in Arunachal Pradesh have received a special blessing. As a Diwali gift, the state government has announced a 3% increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR). With this hike, the DA and DR rates have risen from 60% to 63% of the basic salary/pension.

The benefits of this increased DA and DR will be provided along with the salary and pension for the month of November. This decision will result in a 3% increase in the salaries of employees and the pensions of pensioners.

Benefits to be effective from July
These new rates will be considered effective from July 1 of this year. Chief Minister Pema Khandu shared this update via a post on social media on Friday. In his post on 'X' (formerly Twitter), Khandu stated, "I am pleased to announce that the Government of Arunachal Pradesh has approved a 3% hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) for state government employees and Dearness Relief (DR) for pensioners and family pensioners. Consequently, the rate has increased from 60% to 63%, effective from July 1, 2024."

Who will benefit?
The Chief Minister clarified that the increased DA and DR will also apply to 'All India Services' (AIS) officers working under the state government, as well as central government employees currently on deputation in Arunachal Pradesh.

Arrears for 4 months to be paid
According to Khandu, the arrears for the four-month period from July to October will be paid in cash. This amount will be credited directly into the salary accounts of serving employees and the pension accounts of pensioners and family pensioners.

He further mentioned that the payment for the increased DA and DR will be disbursed along with the salary and pension for the month of November. The Chief Minister further stated that this decision would benefit a large number of the state's serving government employees and pensioners, providing them with additional financial support during the festive season.
