Cyber Fraud: How to identify real and fake messages? Know the easy way to avoid cyber fraud.

Cyber Fraud: Nowadays our lives have become very dependent on mobile phones and the internet. Be it any bank work, shopping or talking to friends, everything is being done through mobile and internet. But as their use is increasing, the risk of fraud and cyber attacks is also increasing.
Cyber Fraud: Cyber criminals i.e. hackers and fraudsters try to cheat people by adopting different methods. They often send fake messages to trap people, which say that your bank account will be closed, update KYC, have won an offer, or enter an OTP. If you trust these messages or click on any link, your personal information can be stolen.
The government and TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) have made a rule for all companies and institutions. Now whenever a message is sent by any organization, a special letter is written at the end of that message. These letters identify that message.
These 4 letters are G, S, T, P
G = Government
This means that the message has been sent by a government department or organization. Such as electricity department, municipal corporation or a message related to any government scheme.
S = Service
This means that this message has come from a service provider such as bank, mobile company, internet service providing company etc.
T = Transaction
If this is written, then understand that the message is related to your transaction. Such as bank OTP, information about deduction from account, or payment confirmation.
P = Promotional
This means that this message is related to some advertisement or promotion. Such as a shopping offer, discount, loan offer or promotion of any product.
If these codes are not there in the message, then be careful!
If you receive a message and it does not end with any of the codes G, S, T or P, then it may be suspicious. Such a message may contain a fake link, on clicking which your information may be stolen.
People think "any scammer can also put G or S?" But this is not so. Codes like G, S, T or P can be given only when that organization is registered with TRAI.
TRAI gives a special Sender ID to every company and messages can be sent only through it. Without registration, these codes cannot be used by any fake person.
How to stay safe?
Read every message carefully
If you find something strange in a message or there is no code, then do not trust it.
Before clicking on any link, think whether it is trustworthy?
Never share your bank details, OTP, password with anyone.
If you suspect any message, immediately contact your bank or the concerned company.
Trust only the messages sent as per TRAI rules.
What is the objective of the government?
The Government of India and TRAI have started this code system so that people can stay safe from cyber fraud. The government wants every citizen to identify real and fake messages, so that one's hard-earned money does not fall into the hands of fraudsters.
Now whenever a message comes on your mobile, definitely look at its last line. If it has G, S, T or P written in it, then that message can be real. But if nothing like this is written, then be alert immediately.
